Hope testing week and the run clinic were great opportunities for everyone to see where they are at in terms of training and reflect on some personal goals as we approach our summer races! If you couldn’t make the run clinic, check out the drills we learned to help improve our running form on the website! They’re in the “For Members” tab, under Swim, Dry Land, and Running Drills.

May 11th is our annual Bike and Car Wash Fundraiser for the team! Proceeds go directly to the team to help make your experience as a part of NU TRI better! The fundraiser will be held in the Garrett Parking Lot (On the west side of Sheridan across from Kellogg) from 9:00am to 1:00pm. In two Saturdays (Saturday, May 10th), there is a 10k race hosted by the Northwestern Graduate Association 10k race being held on the Lakefill! A ton of our athletes are associated with the grad school so it would be awesome to get a ton of our triathletes to support them! CLICK HERE to register for the race!! 3. Cliff Bar Order - (Due: Monday April 28th @ 8:00 pm):
It’s that time of the season again to stock up on cliff bars! Cliff orders are due by 8:00 pm this Monday night (April 28th) at the latest, no exceptions! 4. Memphis in May Race - (May 16th-18th):
Memphis is one of the coolest races we get to do! There are two distances, Sprint (swim 0.75k, bike 20k, run 5k) and Olympic (swim 1.5k, bike 40k, run 10k). We will be leaving Friday May 16th and we will have racers competing Saturday May 17th and Sunday May 18th! If you did not already sign up on the google doc and are interested in coming, contact Jason Riddell (our new president! email@example.com)
5. Leaning Tower Triathlon - (May 18th):
If you cannot make it to Memphis, we will also be doing a sprint race in Niles, IL (close by) on May 18 called the Leaning Tower Triathlon. We strongly encourage this race if you cannot make it to Memphis, it’s a great opportunity to do your first race and get some more experience before summer racing season begins! Click here for Info about the Race!!
6. Summer Racing!
If you are interested in racing at Nationals next year (April 2015), you must do at least 1 Olympic distance MECTC race this summer! Nationals is an AMAZING experience and a great way to connect with the team! I HIGHLY encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity!
You will also need to do at least five MECTC races this summer if you want to earn yourself a draft legal spot for Nationals in April 2015!
Click here for the summer race schedule!!!
The schedule is the same as always. We are excited about taking every opportunity we have to run and ride outside as the weather gets warmer!
Workout Buddy - Contact me (Niki- firstname.lastname@example.org) if you are searching for a workout buddy (running, biking, or swimming) or if you want to join group rides! Everyone should come to swim and group rides regardless of your speed! We will find a partner for everyone!!
